friends found hard to pronounce .
He liked all sports and displayed

He died in an airplane crash on
Dec. 19, 1943, near Pocatello, Ida.,
a little over a year after he join-
ed the service.
He was 22 years of age.

ditch drive. The bitter winds of
winter made the Battle of the

paign, after he had served 46
months with Gen. Eisenhower's
Army.
He was 26 years of age.
