Engagement Announced
Merkaz Plans
Annual Banque,
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Maslon, of Minneapolis, Minn., announce the
engagement of their daughter, Betty Jay, to Howard W. Engelman,
son of - mrs. Sadie Engelman, formerly of 2749 Elmhurst Ave., and now
of Los Angeles, Calif. Miss Maslon is a graduate of the University of
Minnesota. Mr.
Engelman Is a graduate of the University of Pittsburg,
where he majored in Governmental Service. He was In the armed
forces since December, 1940, and was honorably discharged as a Cap-
tain. The couple will be married in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 31.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Katz announce the engagement of Celia Katz,
to David Engler, son of Mrs. Sophie Engler, of Pasadena Ave. The
wedding will take place in June.

Violet S. Slinider, of LaSalle Blvd. A dinner was held for the
diate families on Al-arch 23 at the home of the bride-elect.
The engagement of Miss Ruth Elaine Bassell to Mr. Stanley Ron-
engarten, of Norfolk, Virginia, is announced by her parents, Mr.
