OBITUARY
MRS. CLARA EHRLICH
of 2752 Boston, wire of Moe
Ehrlich, well known Detroit Jew-
eler, died at the home utter a

of 66.
Long active in charitabl e and
civic activities during her 45
years' residence in Detroit, Mrs.
Ehrlich was a member of the
Sisterhood of Shaarey Zedek,
Temple Israel, Hadassah and the
Women's Auxiliary of United He-
brew Schools.
Survivors include the husband,
one son, Harold N., a daughter,
Mrs. Lawrence J. Michelson, both
of Detroit; a daughter, Mrs. Mil-
ton Klivens, Youngstown, 0 . ,
and two brothers, Nathan and
Moses Goldman, both of Detroit.
Funeral services were held.
Thursday at Ira Kaufman Fu-
neral Home, 9419 Dexter. Burial
was in Clover Hill Park Ceme-
tery.
PINKUS GREENBERG
of 2605 Elmhurst, died June 14
at the age of 82 years. Ile was a
resident of Detroit for 54 years.
Funeral services were held at the
Hebrew Benevolent Society on
Thursday. Rabbis Thumin, Ra-
binowitz and Rotenberg officiat-
ed. He leaves his wife, Wel, four
sons, Jacob, Abe, Henry, Ruby;
and t ii r e e daughters, Mrs. P.
Zucca, Mrs. Ben Lewis, and Mrs.
Jack Feldman. Interment was at
Beth Abraham Cemetery.
HYMEN TIKTINER (TINER)
of 2480 Oakman Blvd., died June
12 at the age of 73. Funeral ser-
vices were held Wednesday at
the Hebrew Benevolent Society.
Rabbi A. M. Hershman officiated.
He leaves his wife, Ella; six sons,
Irving H., Nathan, Harry, David
L., Martin and Jack Tiller. In-
terment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery.

Ground for the Northwest Syn-
agogue will be broken within the
next few (lays, it was announced
at the first donor dinner of the
Northwest Congregation and cen-
ter last Sunday at the Jewish
Center. Building restrictions have
been I:fted and priorities secured.
The Synagogue will be erected
on a site owned by the congrega-
tion on Curtis and Santa Rosa,
two blocks west of Livernois, The
!mer auditorium will be com-
pleted before the High Holy Days
and the Congregation will worship
its own Synagogue.
A substantial amount was con-
tributed at the donor dinner which
was attended by :300 .men and
women, Dr. Emanuel Gamoran of
Cincinnati, one of the most prom-
inent Jewish educators in the
land, was the speaker.
Gather 5,000 Books
In Detroit Drive
The book drive by the Detroit
chapter of the American Jewish
Congress has reached its goal of
5,0,31 books. However, more books
are being collected.
The books are shipped to New
York rind from there to Europe.
A few days ago the American
Jewish Congress sent the first
shipment of books to France. The
books are needed by the devas-
tated Jewish communities of
Europe.

two months' illness. Born Fannie
Weinberg, in Rega, Russia, in
1875, she moved to Bay City 50
years ago and married Samuel
Werbelow in Bay City in 1895.
She was a member of the Shaa-
rey Zedek church, Surviving are

Weinberg, of Saginaw; Mrs. Hel-
en L. Rosenberg, of Detroit; Mrs.
Mary Mulne, of Los Angeles,
Calif.; Mrs. Dorothy Feldman, of
Mynot, N. D.; the Misses Gert-
rude and Sybil Werbelow, of Bay
City; and Miss Goldie Werbelow,
of Detroit; two sons, Jerry

ton Werbelow, of the U.S. Army
