the Omer, will be celebrated in
all the branches of the United
Hebrew Schools on Tuesday, May
1. The 49 days between the
festivals of Pesach and Shovouth
are known as solemn days, dur-
ing which no festive gatherings
are held. The 33rd day, Lag
B'Omer, is a day of public re-
joicing and it is being celebrat-
ed us such in all Hebrew schools
in the Diaspora and in Palestine.
In some of the brunches of
the Hebrew schools, teachers have
arranged to have outings with
their pupils and conduct their
programs out of doors. Others
will have gatherings in the as-
sembly rooms.
