JERUSALEM (Palcor). — A
Jewish Agency survey reveals
that Palestine can absorb imme-
diately an additional 100,000
Jewish immigrants, even before
launching any great develop-
ments and without any special
preparations, Bernard Joseph le-
gal adviser to the Jewish Agency,
declared.
Dr. Joseph added that the
statement by the Duke of Devon-
shire, Undersecretary for Col-
onies, that Palestine was too
small to admit many more immi-
grants, and that many refugees
"probably" prefer repatriation,
was unfair and erroneous.
The fact is that only 4,000
certificates remained of the 10,-
300 granted to the Agency last
October, and most of those were
already distributed among the
refugees in France.
At present there is not a sin-
gle certificate in the possession
of the Agency at a time when
hundreds of thousands of Jews in
Europe wish, and must, proceed
to Palestine, he said.
