DURING THE PASSOVER SEASON CONGRE-
GATION EMANU:EL , climax a year of activities
celebrating the one hundredth anniversary since its
founding. From humble beginnings in a dwelling place
on the lower East Side of New York City, it now
occupies its present position in the religious life of
America, thanks to the devotion of its rabbis and
lay-leaders.
