ROME (WNS) — American
Jewish servicemen observed Pur-
im here last week by "throwing"
a party for the Jewish children
of Rome.
The party, held at one of the
local Hebrew Schools, was at-
tended by more than 1,000
youngsters. Each of the children
received a Purim gift. A feature
of the entertainment was an
A m erica n "cartoon movie,"
which was vociferously applaud-
ed by the children, many of
whom had little occasion for joy
in the past five years.
- Another Purim celebration was
held by American servicemen in
one of the largest theaters here.
The traditional reading of the
Megillah was followed by a pro-
gram of Jewish music in which
artists of many countries partici-
pated.
