Pisgah to Show "Night Eva Prenzlauer Aid
Of Unusual Movies" at To Install Officers

The installation of officers of

Bnai Brith Pisgah Lodge No.
34 is sponsoring a "Night of Un-
usual Movies" to aid Pisgah
Lodge's war service fund, and
the movies are being shown at
the Temple Beth El on Wednes-
day, May 17, at 8:30 p. m. The
admission, which is $1, is being
used entirely for the war service
fund, and the committee prom-
ises a pleasant program.
Bnai Brith is engaged in a
program of furnishing day
rooms and other recreational
needs in the camps throughout
the country, and is co-operating
with the American Red Cross,
or in direct relationship with the
special service and morale of-
ficers in camps all over the
country. Over 300 such rooms
have already been furnished, and
now Bnai Brith is pledged to
help in an extension of the "In
Camp" program and service
clubs for our boys overseas.
All members of Bnai Brith and
their friends are invited to at-
tend. Tickets will be on sale in
front of the Brown Memorial
Chapel at the Temple Beth El,
Woodward and Gladstone, the
evening of May 17.
The special war service com-
mittee consists of Milton M.
Weinstein, chairman, and Max
Blumenthal, Max Goldhoff, Ru-
dolph Leaman, Louis Schostak
and Harry Yudkoff.

Bnai David Conducts
Mothers' Day Services
On Saturday, May 13

the Eva Prenzlauer Maternity
Aid will be held on Tuesday, May
16, at 12:30 p. m., in the Book
Cadillac Hotel. Mrs, J. Wartell
will install the new officers. The
name of Mrs. Rose Brooks, the
delegate at large, was omitted
by mistake from the recent an-
nouncement of incoming officers,
she having been re-elected to that
office. Reservations to the in-
stallation may be made by call-
ing Mrs. N. Blatnikoff, president
of the organization, at Hogarth
4472, or Mrs. Louis Alper, Uni-
versity 1-3806, not later than
Saturday, May 13.
At the last meeting, donations
were received from the follow-
ing: Mrs. N. Blatnikoff, in honor
of her birthday; Mrs. Louis Al-
per, in memory of her father;
Mrs. Anna Williams, in memory
of her husband.
The next meeting will be held
on Tuesday, June 6, at the home

Self Help to Hold First
Annual Meeting May 14

The first annual meeting of
the Selfhelp will be held Sun-
day, May 14, at 8 p. m,, in the
Jewish Community Center Audi-
torium, Woodward at Holbrook.
During this meeting a business
report will be given and elections
will be held.
Three introductory addresses
will be delivered, by Dr. Samson
R. Weiss, Dr. J. K. L. Bihl and
Dr. Gabriel Steiner.
The address of Dr. Weiss will
be his farewell as a vice presi-
dent of the Selfhelp, Detroit
Chapter. He has accepted a call
to head a national Jewish edu-
cational organization in New
York.
Our members, friends and
sponsors are cordially invited to
attend this meeting. '

Saturday, May 13, the Bnai
David Synagogue will dedicate
its services in honor of Mothers'
Day, and Rabbi Joshua Sperka
will preach a special sermon for
the occasion entitled "Jewish
Mothers". Women of the syna-
gogue and their children, to-
gether with all women in the
neighborhood, are invited to be
guests at the service. The mem-
bers of the Sisterhood will be

their golden wedding anniversary
on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14,
at Pereira's. They have three sons,

sories. She carried a white Bible
adorned with orchids.
Miss Marilyn Katz, sister of
the bridegroom, attended the
bride as maid of honor. Wilford
