resolutions adopted at the con-
ference.
On Jan. 10, 1943, Detroit
Mizrachi will celebrate the 31st
Anniversary of the founding of
the Mizrachi movement with a
banquet at the Jericho Temple.
Daniel Temchin has been ap-
pointed chairman and Meyer
Beckman co-chairman of the ban-
quet. Sol. B. Edelman has been
appointed chairman of the Syn-
agogue committee with Louis
Dan and L. Szolar as his asso-
ciates. Isadore Sosnick, Dr.
Moses L. Weiser and Isaac Rosen-
thal have been named to the Or-
ganization's committee. Meyer
Beckman and Lazar Levine have
been placed in charge of tickets.
Sol Lumberg, executive secre-
tary, pointed out that the work
of the Mizrachi Organization is
not a duplication of the efforts
of any group, in that the funds
raised by the Mizrachi are used
primarily to strengthen the pil-
lars of Judaism in Palestine. He
stated that it is the conviction
of the Mizrachi that the restora-
tion of Jewish national life also
means the re-establishment of the
Torah and Jewish law.
The public is invited to the
banquet and tickets may be ob-
tained by calling Randolph 9669.

URGES PARTICIPATION
On Wednesday evening, Dec.
2, a meeting of religious Zion-
ist leaders and presidents of
Synagogues was held at the
home of Sol B. Edelman, chair-
man of the Synagogue commit-
tee of Detroit Mizrachi, and
plans were formulated for in-
creasing Mizrachi activity in Or-
thodox Jewish circles.
Mr. Edelman stated that, "It
s the duty of every traditional
ew not only to offer lip serv-
ce but to actively participate in
he cause of Zion. In the spirit
0 f the Macabees of old, we must
g o forward with the same zeal
a nd vision for the entire land
0 f Israel, without any limita-
t ion. The spiritual strength of
0 ur people is needed in our day
m ore than in any period of our
g reat history and the Mizrachi
Z ionists demand that all those
w ho profess their love for Zion
hall now come forward, as (lid
t he Maccabees, to help in the
ebirth of our people in Eretz
srael."
