Bettie Taylor's unusual and
colorful production, West Indian
"Dippy-Dip" revue, which has
aroused much favorable comment,
stays at Club Three 666 through-
out this week. Topping a great
sepia cast arethe famous Calypso
Kids, who render their fascinat-
ing native songs in true West
Indian lingo, and Claudia MeNed,
deep-voiced song stylist, who re-
cently took New York by storm.
Those in support include Pete
Nugent, Public Tapper No. 1,
who is making a strong bid for
all time tap dancing glory at this
club; Jean and Vernon, novelty
dance team; Morton "Swing"
Brown, juvenile lead; the eight
dancing and handsomely costumed
Taylorettes, and the ever pop-
ular master of ceremonies, Sam
Fouche. "Lanky" Bowman's pop-

TELENEWS PREMIERES "FIGHTING FRENCH"
French Inventor of Blitzkrieg
This rare shot of General Charles de Gaulle, today commander
of all Fighting French forces, shows him at inspection (center)
with President LeBrun (left). Even in pre-war days the Germans
recognized De Gaulle as the genius of modern mechanized warfare.
This scene conies from the latest issue of March of Time, "Fighting
French," which begins its Detroit premiere run at the Downtown
Telenews Theater, Woodward at Grand Circus, beginning Friday,
October 16.
RUSSIAN RELIEF
A conference of the Folks Com-
mittee for Russian War Relief
will take place Sunday, Oct. 18. World Too Turbulent
at 2 p. m., at the Workmen's For Artistic Creation,
Circle Educational Center, 11529 Fritz Kreisler Laments
Linwood. One of the United Na-
tions heroes visiting Detroit at
present will be present as the
representative of Russia—Lieut.
Vladimir Pchelintsev (killed 152
Nazis).
We invite all delegates, organ-
ization officers and individuals to
come and greet this hero.
FOX—As was expected, the re-
sponse to the star-studded "Tales
of Manhattan" was so great that
the Fox is holding over this tre-
mendous hit for a second big
week. Held over on the same pro-
gram is Hal Roach's streamlined
laugh hit, "The McGuerins from
Brooklyn."
MICHIGAN—Detroiters will
have one more week to discover

laugh hit is continuing for an-
