Jewish [Porkers March to Victory
A stirring example of the all-out war
effort of the Jews in Palestine is the Weiss
family of Tel Aviv (le/i) all of whom,
father, mother, son and daughter are in
the armed forces, helping to defend the
vital Middle Eastern front. Below are a
company of the newly-formed Palestine
Jewish infantry battalion on the march and
a group of Jewish farmers marching to the
fields which, through their intensive efforts,
are yielding ever-increasing harvests to
feed the growing army of fighters and in-
dustrial workers. The total war effort of
the Jewish homeland in Palestine is los-
tered by the United Palestine Appeal which
derives its funds from the United Jewish
Appeal for Refugees, Overseas Needs and
Palestine, the single fund-raising agency
for the United Palestine Appeal, Joint Dis-
tribution Committee and National Refugee
Service.
