Clinic is under the direction of
Esther Mendelson. Any person can

Next Monday night, Pisgah
Lodge No. 34, Bnai Brith will
hold a regular business meeting
in the main auditorium of the
Jewish Community Center. A
special order of business at this
meeting will be a special election
of a recording secretary to suc-
ceed Phillmore Leemon who has
been inducted into the armed
forces. Following the business
session and open forum will be
held on the following topic,
"What I Expect from Bind Brith.
Rudolph Meyersohn, president
of the lodge announces that the
lodge will meet regularly every
Monday night during the months
of Oct. and ov. instead of the
first and third Mondays as here-
tofore. He urges all members to
attend every meeting. This is a
jubilee year in Pisgah Lodge and
the 85th anniversary will be cele-

term, with special meetings of

ers interned in Nazi camps in
Germany. Package labels, received
directly from prison camps,
prove that a number of soldiers
are of Jewish nationality and a
campaign is to be inaugurated
to send food packages through
the facilities of the Red Cross.
The United States authorities
have offered free transportation
of food packages, destined to
the prisoners of war. A consider-
able number of these package
labels have been received in De-
troit and an action will be started
to communicate with the soldiers
named thereon and send them

Community Council to
Present Reports
A number of matters of vital
importance to the Jewish com-
munity of Detroit will be pre-
sented for discussion at the con.
ference of Community Council
delegates on Sunday, Oct. 4, at
8:15 P. M. in the auditoriu m of
the Jewish Community Center
Woodward at Holbrook. These'
delegates represent the Commun-
ity Council's 190 constituent or-
ganizations, and matters of com-
munity policy are discussed by
them for the guidance of the
executive committee which meets
at monthly intervals, or more
often if necessary.
In addition to the reports of
committee chairmen on the coun-
cil's program since the last con-
ference of delegates in June,
there will be a report on the Al-
lied Jewish Campaign's entry into
the War Chest, and a discussion
of the significance of this step for
the Jewish community. There will
also be a discussion of the needs
for expanding the work of the
Community Council in the field
of internal Jewish community
problems, and the proposal that a
study he made to determine the
needs in this area of work, and
the techniques and machinery for
putting it into operation.
