New Year's Message from Benjamin Kaufman, Nat'l
Commander, Jewish War Veterans of United States

In the past year, all the forces of freedom have
rallied to throw back the oppressors who would destroy
everything for which humanity has struggled for 5000
years. Especially heavy blows have fallen upon the Jews
all over the world. Sometimes, we, in America, because
of our safety, have forgotten that millions of Jews in
Europe were in the process of extermination by the most
vicious enemy which history has known.
As Jews, we should be comforted with the fact that we
have tasted the worst and have seen the conscience of
the world aroused to fight with us to destroy those who
have aimed destruction at us.
In the past year, the realization has dawned upon all
the world that this is not merely a fight for the Jews, but
is basically a war for all humanity. At this New Year's
season, we Jews should give thanks that this awakening
has come about and should look forward with renewed
courage and strength to the ultimate victory which will
be ours.
Benjamin Kaufman,
National Commander.
