DETROIT JEWISH CHRONICLE and the Legal Chronicle

Youth Division RWR
To Get Signatures

Detroit Youth leaders met this
week-end with Joy Hume of New
York, National Director of the
Youth Division of Russian War
Relief, Inc. to make plans for
the launching of a Nation-wide
drive to secure one million signa-
tories to greetings from Amer-
ican Youth to Russian Youth.
Small contributions are asked of
signers and it is expected that
Ambassador Litvinoff, when he
delivers the scrolls to Russia, will
be able to accompany them with
a check fot $100,000.00.
In Detroit Scrolls are avail-
able at the Russian War Relief
Office, 1217 Penobscot Bldg., Ra.
3925. They will be distributed by
church, nationality and trade
union groups. All large picnics
and entertainments will be can-
vassed. Organizations which do
not have scrolls are asked to con-

tact the RWR Office at once.
On June 22, 1942, the signed
scrolls will be presented to a
member of the Russian War Re-
lief Committee in a ceremony on
the City Hall steps. Similar pro-
grams will be held throughout the
Nation.
Jewish Youth representatives
on the Committee are Edward
Shulman of the Jewish Youth
Forum, and Goldie Levinstein,
League of Detroit Jewish Youth.
