Red Cross Units
Continue Functions
Mrs. Bayre Levin, president Of
the Sisterhood of Temple Israel,
announced this week that the Red
Cross unit organized by the Sis-
terhood continues to fuitefion and
that sewing and knittidg is done
as usal.
The sewing and knitting classes
are conducted as usual from 9:30
a. m. to 9 p. in. on Tuesdays and
9:30 a. m. to 5 p. m. on Wednes-
days, at 615 Boulevard Bldg.
Members and friends are urged
to enroll for these classes as soon
as possible.
Mrs. Levin also announces the
formation of a first aid class for
men and women, to be conducted
by Dr. Raymond Sokolov. She
urges that all interested should
register from 8 to 10 p. m. on
Wednesday evening at 615 Boule-
vard Bldg.
Rabbi Adler to Address
Beth El College of Jewish
Studies on Monday
Rabbi Morris Adler of Congre-
gation Shaarey Zedek will speak.
on "Why I Am a Traditional
Jew" at the Beth El College of
Jewish Studies on Monday eve-
ning, Feb. 9, at 9 o'clock.
Rabbi Adler is graduate with
distinction from the Jewish Theo-
logical Seminary of America and
prior to his coming to Detroit was
rabbi of Temple Emanu-El at
Buffalo. He is a member of the
board of governors of the National
Academy for Adult' Jewish &u-
dies, a member of the board of
directors of the Detroit Round
Table of Catholics, Protestants,
and Jews, president of the Zion-
ist Organization of Detroit, and
a member of the executive board
of the Jewish Community Coun-
cil. He is an eloquent speaker
and is classed among the out-
standing younger conservative
rabbis in the country.
This is the sixth in the series
"Why I Am What I Am" con-
ducted under the auspices of the
Beth El College of Jewish Stu-
dies.

At the Bnai Moshe
Dinner on Saturday
The Bnai Moshe Sisterhood
will be host to the congregation
members and friends at the an-
nual donor dinner, Sunday,
Feb. 8.
Rabbi B. Benedict Glazer of
Temple Beth El will be guest
speaker. The arrangements com-
mittee is composed of the Mes-
dames James Sobel, Sam Freed-
man and Harry S. Greenbaum.

impressive wedding ceremony on
Sunday, Feb. 1, when Miss Lila
Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Hoffman, 2005 Phil-
adelphia Ave., was united in
marriage to Ben Danowitz, son
of Mrs. Bessie Danowitz of Bat-
tle Creek, Mich.
Mrs. David Chicorel acted as
matron of honor. The brides-
maids were Mrs. Sol Hoffman
and Mrs. Bernard Hoffman.
Hy Danowitz was the best
man and the ushers were Sol
Hoffman and Bernard Hoffman.
Dinner and reception followed
the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Danowitz left for
New York and on their return
will reside in Battle Creek.
