NEW YORK (JPS)—The il-
legal use of the Congressional
frank has reached new depths
with the utilization of the frank
of the late Senator Ernest Lun-
deen of Minnesota for anti-Se-
mitic, pro-Lindbergh nropaganda
by the National Copperheads, iso-
lationist organization founded
after . the Senator's death last
year, it was revealed by both
the Nein-Sectarian Anti-Nazi
League and the New York Post,
which published the evidence.
The frank of Senator Lundeen,
who before his accidental death
in an airplane crash had been
accused in some quarters as hav-
ing been an anti-Semite, was
used in a mysterious way, not
yet solved by the FBI. The Na-
tional Copperheads, founded by
Ellis 0. Jones, who has written
an anti-Jewish article in the
Deutscher Weckruf and Beobach-
ter, official mouthpiece of the
German-American Bund, distri-
buted a speech by the late Sena-
tor which advocated "America
for the Americans," "Europe for
Europeans" and "Asia for the
Asiatics." The organization de-
rives its name from that used by
President Roosevelt when he call-
ed Lindbergh a defeatist and a
"Copperhead," an appellation it
deems an honor.
The Lindbergh literature sent
out by the isolationist group
without cost because Senator
Lundeen's signature was on the
envelopes, insists that Americans
stay out of the "European" war.
The National Copperheads, call-
ing the flier "our beloved Lindy,"
have not revealed the method
whereby they obtained the dead
Senator's frank.
