of Oriental Studies at the He-
brew University in Jerusalem, a
delegate to the golden anniversary
festival of Chicago University,
was honored at a luncheon here
by four members of the Univer-
sity of Chicago faculty—Dean
Arthur Compton of the division
of physical sciences, Director
John A. Wilson of the Oriental
Institute, Quincy Wright, pro-
fessor of international law, and
Prof. Louis Gottschalk, chairman
of the department of history.

car Straus and son of Roger W.
Straus, co-chairman of the Na-
tional Conference of Christians
and Jews, was married here to
Marjorie Marion Manners Miller,
a Christian. Mr. Straus, whose
grandfather was Secretary of
Labor and Commerce in the cabi-
net of President Theodore Roose-
velt, is a former U. S. Vice-Con-
sul in Montreal. He joined the
U. S. Foreign Service in 1940.
The bride was a member of the
Canadian Olympic ski team in
1936.
