A nation-wide campaign to
raise $3,000,000 for the purchase
of medical supplies for emergency
war relief work in the Soviet
Union was launched by Russian
War Relief, Inc.
Committees have been formed
in Boston, Baltimore, San Fran-
cisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Phil-
adelphia, Detroit, and other cities
in the Russian War Relief Drive,
and have contributed immeasur-
ably to the national growth of
the organization.
Newfoundland Center
The first recreation center to
be established in Newfoundland
for American soldiers and sailors
was opened last week in the re-
ception hall of hte Hebrew Con-
gregation Synagogue in St. Johns
under the sponsorship of the Na-
tional Jewish Welfare Board, it
was announced by John M. Schiff,
chairman of the Board's Army
and Navy Committee.
