Germans Aid Jewish Com-
munity in Retribution
for Son's Looting
LONDON (JPS) —A German
family in the province of Mor-
avia has given the Jewish Kehil-
lab in its native city the sum
of 10,000 marks in expiation of
the wrongs committed by a son
against Jews on the Eastern
front. The death of the son in
the Russian fighting, the family
is convinced, was a sign that
God had appropriately punished
the youth for his misdeeds.
The story is well authenticat-
ed, but names are omitted for
fear of German reprisals.
The son, stationed in Poland,
frequently sent his family "pres-
ents" consisting of money and
goods he and his fellow-soldiers
had seized from Jews. These
gifts his family refused to ac-
cept, importuning the young man
not to take part in the looting.
When he refused to heed their
advice, members of he family
were certain that God would
bring down vengeance. Upon
news of the death of the soldier,
members of the family sent the
donation to the Jewish com-
munity, asking that prayers be
uttered to forgive him his trans-
gressions.
At first afraid to accept the
contribution, the Jewish com-
munity finally took it upon the
urging of the family.

GENEVA (JPS ) —The Dutch
are gagging at the enforced ex-
hibition of Julius Streicher's no-
torious product, "The Eternal
Jew", which brings Jew-baiting
in the films to a new low level.
Although Nazi authorities have
ordered moving picture houses
to show the film at price 75 per
cent below the usual tariff, and
have demanded that it remain
on the boards for seven months,
nightly demonstrations by Dutch
citizens demanding its removal
and a systematic boycott by the
public testify to the ineptness
of Nazi anti-Semitism in Holland.

Croatia Shows the Way
to Hitler
GENEVA (JPS)—The Croa-
tian Government can apparently
show Hitler a thing or two about
the techniques of looting Jewish
property.
According to the Nazi press
of Croatia, the Adriatic state has
already confiscated 90 per cent
of all land owned by Jews and
SO per cent of Jewish-owned
business enterprises. The news-
papers announce with satisfac-
tion that the remainder will
shortly be turned over to Aryans.
The Croatian regime has thus
made record speed in despoiling
its Jews.
A Hebrew volume published
in Tel Aviv contains the letters
and speeches of Churchill. A
Churchill oration in English is
irksome to Mr. Schicklgruber,'
but he'd probably have three
shades of hysteria if he got it
in Hebrew.
