LONDON (JPS) — A number
of well-known Jewish refugees
from Germany will participate
in an internatioal scientific con-
ference here late this month un-
der the chairmanship of Presi-
dent Benes of the Czecho-Slo-
vakian Government-in-Exile. The
meeting, called to demonstrate
the absurdity of Nazi racial theo-
ries, will attempt to organize
scientists in free countries to aid
in the reconstruction of a demo-
cratic world after the war.

HAIFA (PALCOR)— Through
a strange coincidence the Russian
General Kaluzni has been re-
vealed to be the brother of Pro-
fessor J. Klugai, lecturer in or-
ganic chemistry at the Haifa
Technicum since 1939.
It was while reading today's
issue of The Palestine Post, Eng-
lish-language daily printed in
Jerusalem, that Professor Klugai
noticed a picture of General Sir
Archibald P. Wavell talking with
a Russian general. The photo was
captioned : "General Wavell dur-
ing a recent visit to Iran, where
he met the Senior Russian Offic-
er, with whom he chatted in the
Russian language."
To his surprise, Professor Klu-
gai recognized the Senior Russian
Officer as his own brother, who
still bears the original family
name, which the chemist decided
to change some time ago. Com-
menting on his discovery, Profes-
sor. Klugai stressed the fact that
both he and his brother are, of
course, Jewish.

EVANSTON, Ill. (JPS)—Life
may begin at 40, but genius ends
at that great divide, according to
Dr. Harvey C. Lehman, professor
of psychology at Ohio University.
The greatest philosophical works,
novels and scientific inventions
were created by men between the
age of 35 and 40, Dr. Lehman
told 1,200 psychologists at a spe-
cial meeting of the American
Psychological Association. Spino-
za was one of the immortal philo-
sophers whose work was done at
an early age. The oldest is in
history and criticism.
