BOMBS in his ears,
and in his heart
a question
I
haven't already said to yourself a dozen times in the past year,
"Thank God I live in America," you'd better be thinking about it. It's the
biggest thing in your life today.
I. YOU
We've got a good thing here in this country. We can still make up our own
minds. We can still listen to both sides of the story. We can still speak without
being afraid.
There's another generation coming on. Young people, with the reverberations
of distant bombs in their ears and questions in their hearts. What's it all
about? they ask. Where are tee going?
Our big job is to sell democracy to these young people. We've got to show
them that it works. We've got to prove to them that liberty is still a priceless
Cling . . . that opportunity and hope and happiness are eternally the fruits
of freedom.
Do you believe that? Then give to the Community Fund so that its many
agencies can carry on their vital work with youth. Give generously, remem-
bering that in America, the Heart dictates. GIVE THE AMERICAN WAY!

How the Community Fund
Helps Our Agencies
Out of every dollar contributed to the Comm-
nity Fund, approximately fifteen cents goes to
youth service agencies like our own Jewish Com-
munity Center and the Fresh Air Society. The
balance is distributed to eighty other organiza-
tions offering every type of social service. The
Jewish agencies among them arc the Hebrew Free
Loan Association, the Jewish Social Service Bu-
reau, North End Clinic, the Jewish Child Place-
ment Bureau. Jewish Children's Home. and the
community coordination program of the Jewish
Welfare Federation.
