tango and In conga. He came to
the United States at the age of
seven with his parents and young-
er brother and sister.
His genial personality has as-
sisted him greatly in making
Detroit rhumba conscious. The
Arthur Murray Dancing Studio
of New York City sent him to
Detroit about two years ago to
instruct their teachers at the
suggestion of Raoul and Eva
Reyes, world famous South
American dancing team.
The Carlos Studio of Dancing
was opened here about a year
and a half ago. At the present
time, he gives exhibitions at pri-
vate affairs with ninny fine per-
formers, among whom are Pura
Reyes, Lois Gerson, and Lenore
Gonzales.
Last summer Carlos appeared
at the Cuban Village at the New
York World's Fair. Previous to
that time he was a member of
the dance team of Juanita and
Carlos, known as the "Cuban
Lindy Hoppers." Before opening
his own studio Carlos appeared
with Xavier Cugat.
