HONOR ANNIVERSARY
OF TRUMPELDOR DEATH
A historic day in Jewish life,
"Yud Aleph Adar," was cele-
brated by the members of Hasho-
mer Hatzair in a program ar-
ranged in commemoration of the
20th anniversary of the defense
of Tel Hai and the death of
Y o s e f Trumpeldor. Different
groups presented playlets and
sketches on Trumpeldor's life
and work. The words of Trumpel-
dor, "It is good to die for one's
homeland," tang out and the
true nature of the heroic figure
was expressed.
Through his words and deeds,
Trumpeldor became synonymous
with the ideals of Haganah, Chal-
utziut, and the national funds
of Palestine. A vigorous protest
was voiced against the New Zi-
onist Organization, Brith Trum-
peldor, and the Revisionist party
who have identified themselves
with the name and glory of
Trumpeldor but who have reject-
ed his progressive Jewish ideals.
New Hebrew songs dedicated
to Jewry's fallen hero were sung
by the chorus. During the course
of the evening, Gan Tiktin played
a prominent part in the enthu-
siasm of the group. Sixty-three
trees have already been raised
