will ambassador" to the United
States General Josef Haller, was
expressed here by Polish and
Jewish labor groups. General
Haller, who is a Minister of State
in the Polish Cabinet, was identi-
fied for many years with anti-
Semitic and reactionary groups
in Poland, the Jewish Labor
Committee announced.
This opposition was brought to
the attention of Polish Ambassa-
dor Potocki in Washington by a
delegation made up of two repro-
r.entatives of the Committee ado
two of Polish labor organizations.
Count Potocki informed the
delegation that General Haller,
who arrived late last week on
the Italian liner Rex, came to
this country as representative of
no particular faction in the Po-
lish Government, but as a repre-
sentative of the entire Govern-
ment which. he said, had de-
clared its intention of setting up
a democratic regime in a recon-
stituted Poland.
