While Zionist circles in Amer-
ica are still talking of the ac-
complishments of Ein Ilashofet,
a second American colony is pre-
paring to settle on its own land.
Recent reports state that as soon
as the settlement named after
the late Felix Warburg as com-
pleted, the residents of Kfar
Menachem will be transferred
there. When this occurs Kibbhtz
America-Krith will be given the
lands of Kfar Menachem for set-
tlement. The establishment of a
second American colony in Eretz
Yisroel is as important to the
Zionist movement here as was
the first colony, It shows definite-
ly and conclusivevly that Ein
Ilashofet is not an exceptional
phenomenon in American Zion-
the United States and Canada
ism. Young men and women from
can and do go to Palestine as
chalutzim. Nor will the movement
stop at two American Kibbutzim.
Just as the formation of Ein
Ilashofet and America-Krith was
a natural development from the
youth movement of Hashomer
IIatzair, so will other kibbutzim
arise and develop from this de-
voted youth movement. A third
group, even larger than the nu-
cleus of the first two kibbutzim,
is already formed and well start-
ed on its period of hachshara
(training).
The pamphlet "First Fruits"
Published by the Jewish National
Fund gives an insight on Kibbutz
Ein Ilashofet. Today, as the mem-
bers of Kibbutz America-Krith
prepare to settle, they too have
told their intensely interesting
tales of daily heroism, of work,
and of life. Gleanings from these
writings have been collected into
a pamphlet titled "We Await the
Day." Every piece In this com-
pilation is an expression of the
life of the colony, It tells of the
beginnings, the long training, and
the adjustments to a new life
. "We Await the Day" gives a
subjective picture of the pioneer
life in Palestine.
Copies are now being sold all
over the country by members of
