NEW YORK (WNS) — Trac-
ing the persecution of Jews over
a period of 1,700 years, and de-
claring that the situation now is

speaking to 1,000 members of Jon-
ior Hadassah at the annual mem-
bership meeting at the Hotel As-

to Palestine and build it up as
their own nation, so that they
may cease being minorities in
other lands.

of study on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at
the main branch of the Y.W.C.A.,
51ontcalm at Witherell, at 3 p. m.
This course will be made up of
lectures on the arts, including the
drama, the art of painting, music
in its symphonic form, and the
art of ancient music. The latter,
which will be the subject of the
first study meeting, will be given
by Miss Gwladis Luloff, eminent
authority on ancient music and
ancient instruments. Miss Luloff,
who studied under Arnold Dal-
metsch, builder of ancient instru-
ments, and Landowska, famous
authority on the art of playing
this type of music, will deliver a
lecture-recital in the costumes of
the times. Miss Luloff will bring
with her the Court Virginal, the
instrument popular at the time of
Queen Elizabeth's court. She will
also present a collection of orig-

which are 400 years old. The lec-
ture will begin with old English
music of 1550 and progress to the
early French music of 1650, then
to 1750, the time of Bach, and
finally piano music. For the Bach
period, Him Luloff will play the

taught his pupils to play this
music.
Guests are invited to attend this
