in the Assembly Hall of Congre-
gation Bnui Moshe.
Natural color films of scenes
in England, France, llollantl, Bel-

hibited by Benjamin Gladwin in
connection with a narrative of
his travels on the continent. Of
interest also was the rescription
by D. Robert Webster of con-
ditions as he observed them in
Czechoslovakia and in Ilungary
during the critical days of the
past month.
Reports on the problems of
refugees, given by Ferdinand
Rosenthal and Ralph Weiss, was
followed by a special prayer of-
fered by the lodge president,
Alvin B. Levin, on behalf of per-
secuted minorities overseas.
Dr. Max Rosenfeld reported
an encouraging response to his
call for formation of "fireside
discussion groups" to undertake
analyses of the particular prob-

and THE LEGAL CHRONICLE
IIMMIIMINIW115111MenilliMs
A complete expose of the
"Benjamin Franklin propheCy"
forgery, which quotes Franklin
as having warned against immi-
gration of Jews, appears in the
second issue of the Contempo-
rary Jewish Record, a bi-monthly
review of events of Jewish inter-
est. The magazine, published by
the American Jewish. Committee,
461 4th Ave., New York, is now
off the press.
The Franklin forgery, which
became a last-minite issue at the
end of the New York Slate gu-
bernatorial campaign, is exploded
by many scholars and experts, in-
cluding Charles A. Beard, Henry
Butler Allen, J. Henry Smythe,
Jr., and Alfred Rigling, whose
comments appear in the maga-
zine. The test of the forgery also
is published • The comments end
text will later be reprinted in
pamphlet form.
The magazine also contains a
special eight-page supplement on
the German situation. In this sup-
plement is # comprehensive de-
scription ,of events in Germany
since the renewed outbreak of
persecution of Jews in Germany,
together with a digest of expres-
sions of public opinion on the sit-
uation.
Other articles in the Novem-
ber issue continue the policy of
recording current news concern-
ing Jews during September and
October and publishing authori-
tative interpretations of recent
events. The magazine carries a
study of the development of the
anti-Jewish policy in Italy, by
Dr. Hirsch L. Gordon; an analy-
sis of the present political situa-
tion of the Jew's in Palestine, by
Abraham Revusky, and an ap-
