the gathering.
The Women's Auxiliary of De-
troit Post No. 135 and its presi-
dent, Mrs. H. Shapiro, are also
developing an interesting program
of entertainment for the ladies.
Approximately 10,000 delegates
and friends are expected in De-
troit for the national annual get-
together Sept. 2 to 5, at the Book
Cadillac Hotel.

Fresh Air Camp opens its 25th
season—its I lth at the present
location on Blaine Lake, near
Brighton, Mich., on June 27, with
plans for a summer program of
healthful, outdoor activties for
Jewish boys and girls from six
through 15 years of age. The
1938 season will be divided into
five two-week periods, beginning
June 27, July II, July 25, Aug.
8 and Aug. 22.

Through the years Fresh Air
Camp has grown to be • commu-

tended the camp as children, have
returned each summer and re-
mained to become counselors and
camp directors. This year Irwin
Shaw will return for his third sea-
son as camp director. He brings

they pin the American Legion,
the Veterans of Foreign Wars,
the Disabled American Veterans,
and other veteran groups and,
contrary to the opinion that we
take membership froth these other
groups, it will be found that the
membership of the other veteran
groups is actually increased by
the establishment .of a Jewish War
Veteran Post in any community.
In many Instances other veteran
groups assist us in organizing new

In 1888 it wasn't as easy to
get to Mount Clemens as it is to-
day. There were very few bath-
houses in the city and , no hotels
to speak of, but the beneficial
waters that brought Mayor Baehr
relief in 1888 have continued to
attract him back to Mount Clem-
ens each year for 50 years. He
has tried famous spas throughout
the world, but always has come
back to Mount Clemens and this
year he is celebrating his golden
bath anniversary.
