An Appeal to Local
Jewry for Kashruth

Second Floor

As Kashruth conditions are at
a low standard in Detroit, the
Vaad liakashruth appeals to all
Detroit Jews to co-operate in as-
suring the enforcement of the
traditional laws.
Not only in the butcher shops,
but in delicatessen stores, kosher
restaurants and groceries there
must be constant watch against
the sale of non-kosher food. There
are bakeries whose bread is made
with milk and Jews who would
object to it unknowingly eat this
bread with meat.
In order to guard against abuse
of the traditional laws, the hands
of the Vaad Ilakashruth must be
strengthened. We therefore ap-
peal to Detroit Jews for support
and urge them to send contribu-
tions towards our work to Vaad
liakashruth, care of Lachar's hall
on 12th St.
We also wish to announce that
a mass meeting will be held at
the Beth Tfilah Emanuel Syna-
gogue, Taylor and Woodrow Wil-
son. on Sunday, April 17, for the
purpose of electing officers. The
public is requested to attend.
