CHANUKA RECORDS'
Issued by Women's League
of United Synagogue
NEW YORK—Four well-known
rabbis are the featured artists in
a series of Chanukah musical selec-
tions just reissued in new phono-
graph record impressions by the
Women's League of the United
Synagogue. The traditional Chanu-
kah melodies, recorded originally
while the rabbis were students at
the Jewish Theological Seminary
of America, have again been made
available to the public by the
Women's League, of which Mrs.
Samuel Spiegel is national presi-
dent, because they comprise the
only such Chanukah music in
mechanical rendition. Five num-
bers are recorded on two double
faced records.
One record has the "Blessings
for the Chanukah Lights" on one
side and the "Moor Tzur" on the
other. The soloist for the "Bles-
sings" is Edward T. Sandrow,
now rabbi at C,edarhurst, Long
Island, and he is accompanied by
the Jewish Theological Seminary
Glee Club conducted by Ario S.
Ilyams, now rabbi at Asbury Park,
N. J. The "Mooz Tzur" is sung
by the seminary Glee Club. The
other record has Morris D. Mar-
golis, former Detroiter, now rabbi
at Jacksonville, Fla., singing
"Chanukah" (Kipnis) and "Cha-
nukah, Hoy Chanukah" on one side
of the record and Harold Goldfarb,
now rabbi in Cleveland, singing
"Ilaneros Ilallalu" on the other
face of the record.
Records may be ordered to be
sent parcel post C.O.D. from the
national office of the Women's
League of the United Synagogue,
3080 Broadway, New York City.

"The bulk of social service for
the Jewish community in Detroit
is being performed by the agencies
affiliated with the Jewish Welfare

partly by the Detroit Community

attempting to do a relief job on
an emergency basis or to take care
of special situations which the
budget of the Jewish Social Serv-

Among these, the Eta Prenzlauer

particularly because of the large
size or the ;ergo amount of money
they raise, but because of the fine
