Sybil Rosengarten, 14, whose
ambition is to make a place for
herself on the stage, has been
announced winner in a city-wide
search for talent, sponsored by
the Seven Arts Institute.
Sybil is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Sol Rosengarten, 1944
Elmhurst Ave.,
and has had no
dramatic training
except several ap-
pearances in
school plays and
more recently a

the 9A at Dunce Intermediate,
and will enjoy a semester of
training in the theatrical arts as
a result of her success in the con-
test which was patterned after
the radio program, "Do You Want
To Be An Actor!"
Coming from a talented fam-
ily—her older brother Jacob was
poet laureate at Central High
School and is now in medical
school, Sybil seems to have a nat-
ural gift for the dramatic. She
has already been cast as Joan of
Arc in "The Maid of Orleans," a
forthcoming production of the
Seven Arts Children's Theater,
now in rehearsal for a presenta-
tion in April. Her younger broth-
er, Albert, has also been selected
for a part in the same play.
The Seven Arts Institute an-
nounces that it has enlargened its
faculty to meet the demand for
other fields of art and culture.

For the last session before
Passover, the pupils of Bnai Da-
vid religious school will not meet
in their respective classes. In-
stead all classes will meet in the
banquet hall of the synagogue.
Each grade will be seated at a
separate table headed by its
teacher and together they will
learn of the Passover holiday and
its traditions through the cele-
bration of a children's Seder. Rab-
bi Joshua S. Sperka of Congre-
gation Bnai David will conduct
the Seder.
The entire Seder with its cus-
toms, its special foods and songs
will form part of this educational
effort to teach the children by ac-
tual participation in this most
beautiful of all Jewish home serv-
ices.
No class sessions will be held
in the religious school on Sunday,
March 28, the second day of Pass-
over. Instead all pupils beginning
with the fifth grade to high school
will attend the special services
conducted by the Junior Congre-
gation in the prayer room of the
congregation. The Junior Con-
gregation holds regular services
every Saturday morning at Con-
gregation Bnai David, Elmhurst
at 14th.
