Detroit chapter of Iladassah which
was attempted last year for the
first time, was so successful, that
the chapter is using this means
again this year as its sole fund-
raising project.
The proceeds of the campaign
are used to support Hadassah's
activities in Palestine which in-
clude the Hadassah medical or-
ganization, infant welfare, school
luncheons, Jewish National Fund
and Youth Aliyah.

Preparations are being made in
all classes of the United Hebrew
Schools to celebrate the Chanukah
festival in its true spirit. All the
children are studying the history
of the holiday, are singing the
Chanukah songs and are rehears-
ing Chanukah playlets.
At the Philadelphia School,
parties will be arranged in individ-
ual classrooms on Thursday, the
second day of Chanukah, when the
children will present their play-
lets, partake in group singing and
end up with refreshments and
Chanukah games.
The Tuxedo school will have its
Chanukah celebration on Tuesday,
Dec. 15, the last day of Chanukah.
This will be an all-school celebra-
tion to which the parents will be
invited. The same evening a cele-
bration open for the public will be
held by the Oakland school chil-
dren at the Ahavath Achim Syna-
gogue.
The Fenkell School will hold its
celebration for the children and
their parents the second day of
Chanukah, Thursday, Dec, 10. The
Six-Mile Road School' will hold its
celebration Monday evening, Dec.
14. All the other schools have ar-
ranged for classroom parties.
