Representatives of 60 Organisa-

Table Conference

The round table conference of
the Detroit Auxiliary of the Los
Angeles Sanatorium and Ex - Pa-
tients Home was a success. Sixty
local organizations were mere-
meted by their officers, in addi-
tion to the regular delegates and
individual workers.
The meeting was opened by
Harris Glickman, treasurer of the
auxiliary, who greeted the assem-
bly and stated that the purpose
of the gathering was to
strengthen the auxiliary in its
work for the sanatorium He pre-
sented Joseph Snitman, the presi-
dent of the auxiliary, en the mas-
ter of ceremonies of the evening.
Mr. Snitman dwelt on the impor-
tance of Detroit Jewry's support
of the sanatorium, because of its
democratic, homelike atmosphere,
because of its being a Jewish na-
tional institution, and because of
the phase of Kashruth which pre-
vails in the institution.
James J. Simon, financial secre-
tary of the auxiliary, read the
financial report for the last year.
Ile stated that the auxiliary for-
warded to the sanatorium the sum
of $5,600 since last November,
that $42,595 was sent since 1928,
also that 117 Detroit and Michi-
gan patients were sent to the
sanatorium by the auxiliary since
its inception and that there are
11 Detroit patients in the Sana-
torium and Ex-l'atients Home at
present.
There was a discussion by
representatives of organizations,
and the following participated:
