Families on Thanksgiving
Sessions
The real spirit of Thanksgiving
is instilled in Nate S. Shapero,
who for almost a score of years
has distributed baskets of food to
the needy of both the Jewish and
Christian faiths. A list" of deserv-

Shapero by the welfare agencies
of Detroit, and with each year the
nu mber has increased Through•

have never been informed as to the
identity of their donor.

through volunteer work, and there
Is one unbreakable rule-that no
chauffeur shall deliver any of the
baskets. Mr. Shapero feels that if
anyone of the group who assists
him feels as impersonal and in-
different as to allow a substitute
to distribute these baskets, he can

laws, fish is given to the Jewish
families while Gentiles receive

cereals, fruits, vegetables, sugar,
flour and many other necessary
foodstuffs.
