Goldstick Is Named
For U. S. Congress

Nathaniel Goldstick was the
successful candidate for the Re-
publican nomination for Congress
in the 15th District. Mr. Gold-
stick, since 1925 assistant cor-
poration counsel assigned to work
with the Detroit Police Depart-
ment, will oppose Congressman
John B. Dingell at the election
in November.
While Mr. Goldstick was the
only successful Jewish candidate
on the Republican ticket, the only
successful candidate on the Demo-
cratic ticket for any office was
John II. Schneider, who won the
nomination for Circuit Court
Commissioner for the short term.
J. FL Eliasohn of Ludington,
Mich., won the Democratic nomi-
nation for Congress in the 9th
District.

fiction Lodge, Mr. Cohen stated:
"May this noble deed that our
lAsIge has rendered to the United
Hebrew Schools serve as an in-
spiration to other organisations
to do likewise, in furtherance of
this worthy project."
Judge Harry B. Keidan, vice-
president of the Hebrew schools,
in a letter to Aaron A. Silberblatt,
the worshipful master of Perfec-
tion Lodge, took occasion to com-
ment as follows:
"It has come to my attention
that our lodge recently 'contribut-
ed $100. to the United Hebrew
Schools Scholarship Fund, and I
wish to commend the action of the
brothers and yourself.
"You may know that for many
years, I have been actively interest-
ed in the United liebre'w Schools,
and it is a pleasure to say that it
numbers among its former students
and graduates some of the most
prominent and useful members of
our community.
"Perfection Lodge through its
contribution, is promoting good
citizenship in our midst."
In a statement from Judge
Charles Rubiner, past master of
Perfection Lodge, and a member
of the board of the Ilebrew schools,
the lodge is lauded as follows:
"I should like to take this oppor-
tunity of expressing the pleasure
which I felt upon hearing the an-
nouncement of Perfection Lodge's
contribution to the United Hebrew
Schools, and to congratulate the
Lodge upon its choice of a bene-
ficiary. My views on the subject
of Jewish education are well known
and I feel deeply the neglect of
all institutions of Hebrew learn-
ing, on the part of people and or-
ganizations who are in a position
to help.
"It is hoped that the example
which Perfection Lodge has set
will be emulated by others."
