REPLANT TREES
IN PALESTINE
Mrs. S. L. Kavanau, chairman
of the Jewish National Fund
Committee of Hadassah, reports
that Ha d a s s a h members and
friends have been so deeply
moved by the willful destruction
of trees by Arab terrorists that
an increasing number have par-
ticipated in the campaign to re-
plant a tree for every one which
has bean' destroyed or burned.
As a part of their protest
against the British policy of Jew-
ish immigration into Palestine
the Arabs sought to despoil the
rehabilitation of Palestine the
Jews have brought about. They
have destroyed crops and have
felled trees. In many instances
they set fire to living trees.
Hadassah is co-operating with
the Jewish National Fund of
America to replant as many trees
as possible. No personal solicita-
tion is made, and all who wish to
plant trees are urged to call Mrs.
S. L Kavanau, who will be glad
to furnish further information.
Trees may be planted to com-
memorate happy occasions, birth-
days, Yahrzeits, or as in Biblical
times, to celebrate the birth of
a child. Trees may be planted in
honor of loved ones, or in mem-
ory of the departed. The price of
a tree is $1.50. A receipt is sent
to the donor, and an appropriate
letter of acknowledgement to the
person in whose honor the tree is
planted, or in case of bereave-
ment, to the members of his or
her family. '
Trees planted this week are as
follows. To replant a tree, by
