bears the foreign sounding name
of Dusolina Giannini is in Amer-
Lily Pons, famous coloratura ican by birth, though of Italian
soprano, will appear in concert at parentage. She was born in
Orchestra Hall, Monday evening, Philadelphia and received all of
Jan. 28, under the direction of
Isobel J. Hurst. Reservations may
be phoned at Hotel Stetter, Cad.

To all appearances, I.ily Pons
is a frail little body, almost
childlike in her diminutive height
of five feet two and with her
dark bobbed haid. She weighs
only 104 pounds and has the
smallest foot of any prima donna
at the Metropolitan.
But a world press has heralded
her success in the glamorous
phrase, "Fame overnight." For
such it seemed when on the morn-
ing following her Metropolitan
Opera debut, Jan. 3, 1931, news.
