work, thousands of school children
daily receive a simple but healthy
lunch at school. This daily ser-
vice is having a tremendous influ-
ence upon the health of young
children in Palestine.
In order that the Jewish chil-
dren of America may understand
this work and participate in it,
envelopes were distributed last
Sunday among thousands of Sun-
day school and Hebrew school
pupils throughout the country, In
Detroit this was carried out under
the supervision of Mrs. Philip J.
Gilbert, chairman of the Palestine
School Luncheon Fund, and her
special committee.
Hadassah pleads for the,, co-
operation of the mothers in seeing
that these envelopes are brought
back to Sunday school and He-
brew school this Sunday, Dec. 25,
in order that many Jewish children
in Palestine may continue to re
ceive at least one nourifhing meal
a day.

the Last Word

E'VE heard all our lives that
women always have the last
word in an argument. As to that,
we don't know, for no good grocer
ever argues with a customer.
Rut what interests us enormously
is the fact that women do have the
last word in buying for their fami-
lies. We're told that they buy 85%
of all the goods sold at retail
in the United States. And, of
course, we don't have to be
told that they buy just about
100% of the food sold.

W

Tha Great

Which means that in our business
we hove 90,000 men, whose job is
to make it easy for women to have
the first, as well as the last, word.
All of them cater to the food prefer.
ences of the American woman.

The food on A &P shelves is the
kind of food that American women
have asked for. And the A 8 P

store in your neighborhood,
as well as in many other
neighborhoods, is there be-
cause great numbers of wo-
men wont it there,
