BALTIMORE,—(J. T. A.)—Dr.
Raphael Levy, professor of ro-

of Baltimore, has been awarded a
financial grant by the American
Council of Learned Societies.
Dr. Levy will use the money for
traveling in Europe this summer,
where he is to prepare an edition
of the old "Commencement de Sa-

Originally written in Hebrew by
the famous scholar of medieval

translated into other languages.
It is an astrological treatise.
Dr. Levy will collaborate on t he
edition with Francisco Cante TR
Burgos, Spanish scholar of t he
University of Salamanca. T he
volume will be in two sections, one
part of the text in Hebrew and
the other in French. Dr. Levy
will handle the French text.
Dr. Levy will leave Baltimore
about the end of next month, and
he will join Dr. Burgos in Paris.
They will study together in Paris
and in several other cities in Eu-
