the late Mr. Schiff. The three are
named also trustees by the will.

success. Entertainment and cards
have been provided for those who
are not interested in dancing, and
several novel features are also be-
ing innovated. Dave Diamond's
Orchestra, will provide the music
for dancing.
Mrs. Ann Weinbeck has arranged
the program and Mrs. Rose Ruben
has charge of the ticket sale.
Children's Party.
The anual children's party will
be held Thursday, June 25 at Belle
Isle, with Miss Theresa Rosenman
as chairman, assisted by a group
of teachers who will give the kid-
dies the most enjoyable afternoon
of the season. Due to the general
retrenchment of all the city de-
partments, the chapter is unable
this year to supply bus transporta-
tion for all, but those who have no
means of transportation will be
taken care of, leaving the Eastern
Star Temple at 12 noon sharp, ar-
riving at the old skating pavilion
at 12:30 at which time the lunch
boxes will be given out to children
only. Mothers are requested to
provide their own refreshments.
Guests will he the children of the
Hebrew Baby Day Nursery.
Purity Chapter will hold a busi-
ness meeting at 7:15 p. m. on June
22.
Summer Schools to Open on
Monday.
The summer program of the De-
troit public schools is scheduled to
begin on Monday, June 22.
There mill be 30 combination
elementary and i n t e r me diate
schools, all offering grades five
through nine, one high school of-
fering grades from nine through
twelve, and several special schools.
The evening school department of
the Detroit public schools immune-
es the usual summer session at Cass
Technical evening high sawl be-
ginning on June 22 at 7 p. m. The
term will continue for eight weeks.
The Publix Century Dancing
School Opens Summer
Season.
The Publix Century Dancing
Schad announces the opening of
its summer season. At present the
age limit is from 3 to 18 years,
either girls or buys being eligible
to become members. The entrance
fee is 10 cents and this also admits
the student to the theater at any
time for a complete performance.
Miss Kathleen l'ereira, director
of the school, has had a wide ex-
perience as a teacher of tap, toe,
acrobatic, musical comedy and ec-
centric dancing. The pupils have
shown 90 much improvement in
their work that Miss Pereira and
her assistants hope to present them
on the stage in the very near fu-
ture.
The school classes are held every
Saturday morning at the Publix
Century Theater, Fourteenth and
Ferry l'ark, from 10:30 to 12:30.

private lessons and private class
lessons in her studies in the thea-
