NEW YORK. — Bequests of $1,001,000 to charity and philan- thropy, and outright gifts of $2,- 000,000 to his son, daughter and son-in-law, and more than $125,- 0110 to employes and servants are made in the will of Mortimer L. Schiff, filed for probate in the of- fice of Surrogate Leone I). Howell, Mineola, L. I. The bulk of the es- tate goes to the widow, Mrs. Adele Gertrude Schiff; a son, John Mort- imer Schiff, and daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Schiff Hall. No estimate was made of the size of the estate. Under the will, (hated Nov. 26, 1930, Mrs. Schiff receives her hus- band's town house, 931-32 Fifth avenue and all its contents; the private garage, 212-16 East Seven- ty-fourth street, and the persiinal effects of Mr. Schiff as an absolute gift. She receives also three-fifths of the residuary estate, of which the son and daughter each receive one-fifth, and the country estate of 805 acres at Oyster Bay in trust for life. The Executors. The executors named in the will are John Mortimer Schiff, the son, and Felix M. Warburg and Casi- mir I. Stralem, brothers-in-law of the late Mr. Schiff. The three are named also trustees by the will. Th e largest charitable awns , $500,000, goes to the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philan- thropic Societies, and the next largest, $100,000, to the Boy Seouni of America. The bequests to those and other institutions are intended to increase their endowments. Mr. Schiff directed that, in addition to those legacies, his executors should cancel and surrender to such lega- tees any bonds, notes or other evi- dence of indebtedness against them held by Mr. Schiff at the time of his death. Other Bequests. The late Mr. Schiff's bequests to Jewish institutions are outlined as follows in the will: "To the Federation for the Sup- port of Jewish Philanthropic So- cieties, in the city of New York, 6500,000, the income thereof to he annulaly distributed by said fed- eration together with the other in- come received by said federation.
