program for the affair, Mrs. Al-
bert Harwith is chairman of the
concert committee, and Mrs. Chas.
Gitlin is associate chairman.
A soloist at the concert will be
Stanislaw Schapiro, noted pupil of
the well known Leopold Auer of
the Petrograd Imperial Conserva-
tory. Mr. Schapiro appeared in a
number of successful concerts in
Europe. Ile is at present with the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Dur-
ing his brief stay in Detroit he has
already trained a number of tal-
tented students who often appear
us soloists. Mr. Schapiro owns a
rare violin made by an old master,
Nicolas Aland.
