Organized by Louis Harrison,
who is the president of the Talmud

cellent progress and has won the
praise of many, including Bernard
Isaacs, superintendent of the Unit-
ed Ilebrew Schools of Detroit, who
was invited to examine the four
classes.
H. Polansky is the teacher, as-
sisted by Simons of the fourth

grade. The study of reading, writ-
ing, the Bible, Jewish History and
grammar forms the curriculum.

school and Alexander Kahn is
reasurer. Mr. Kresge, the assis-
ant treasurer, has been the col-
ector for the past five years.
The school is supported by con-
tributions from the community, 70
ier cent of the donations coming
s a result of an appeal on Rosh
Ilashonah. The balance conies in
tuition fees.

A couple of New York Jewish
boys having in their possession
eight pairs of pants were arrested
by a Jewish policeman, David Katz
of the 5-T precinct, and brought
before a Jewish judge, Magistrate
Gottlieb of the Third District Court
in that city, on the suspicion that
they had no right to these pants.
The boys claimed that they did not
steal the pants but had found them.
Since there was no evidence that
they had not told the truth and the
owner of the pants could not be
found. the boys were released from
custody.
As far as the pants were con-
cerned. the Jewish Magistrate or-
dered the Jewish policeman to take
the package of oants to the }NIA at
425 Lafayette street, where they
could be given to Jewish immi-
grants and homeless people.
