Flint has an estimated popula-

city is largely dependent on the
Buick Motor Company for its busi-
ness and population, as Buick
alone employs in peak seasons
nealry 25,000 men and women.
I The city has grown with the auto-
mobile industry and, of course,
with Buick. In 1910 the popula-

first choice of space at the na-
tional automobile shows because
its business on a dollar-and-cents
basis surpassed that of any other
company. Buick's business last
year was greater than any other
year in its history, in fact Buick's
business was almost twice that of
any other car or combination of
cars produced by any other manu-
facturer except Chevrolet, another
Flint industry.
Buick's business this year in dol-
lars and cents was greater than
any other three companies in
Buick's price class. This is con-
clusive evidence of the fact that
Buick holds first place in the en-
tire industry excepting Chevrolet,
whose dollars and cents business
last year exceeded Buick and gave
them first choice of space which
Buick had enjoyed for the nine
preceding years.
Buick stands so far ahead of all
other companies that second place
will probably be held for a greater
length of time than they held first
place.
tins.
Production Record Int
Buick's continued leadership be-
comes more remarkable when the
price of the product, us compared
with many of those which it out-
sells, is considered. Its field is far
more restricted than that of the
lower price machines, yet the
Buick output gains steadily year
after year.
Buick required 20 years to turn
out its first million cars, and only
four years to produce the second
million. A still shorter period, it
is anticipated, will suffice to place
the third million Buicks on the
road.
