An interesting wedding of the
month took place on Sunday, Dec.
11, at the Book-Cadillac Ilotel,
when Miss Ruth Klein, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Klein,
became the bride of Dr. Morton
Yarrows, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Yarrows.
The bride was lovely in a prin-
cess style Patou model of bridal
satin trimmed in seed pearls. She
wore a crown of rhinestones whirls
held in place her long tulle veil,
trimmed in Spanish lace and
edged with rhinestones. She car-
ried a bridal bouquet of roses and
lilies.

Sigma Phi Lambda, University
of Detroit fraternity, will play host
to approximately 20 couples at the
formal opening of the university
student opera, "Aces Wild," on
Sunday evening, Dec. IR, at the
Shubert Lafayette. Much merri-
ment will he had by the fraternity
members and their friends in their
section. The opening night of the
student opera, being fraternity
night, is a formal affair, and Sigma
Phi Lambda and their friends will
be well represented.
Sigma Phi Lambda is prominent
in University of Detroit activities
and is lending its full support to
the second annual opera.
At the last meeting of the fra-
ternity, six new pledges were given
their pledge pins,

The gowns of the four brides-
maids were made bouffant style
and each wore slippers to match.
Miss Mildred Rothenberg wore
yellow and orange taffeta, Miss
Belle Isenberg wore orchid taf-
feta, Miss Leona Wilder wore pink
and green taffeta and Miss Mary
Glaser wore blue taffeta. Each
carried an arm bouquet to cor-
respond with her gown.
The ushers were Lou Hambur-
ger, Irving Yarrows, Dr. N. Keys,
Max Klein and Charles Schlussel.
Mrs. Klein, the bride's mother,
was gowned in champagne geor-
gette adorned with crystal beads
and fringe. She carried an arm
corsage of roses. Little Helen So-
loman was sweet as a flower girl
dressed in Alice blue georgette,
and Milton Ressler carried a large
lily bearing the ring.
One hundred and fifty wit-
nessed the ceremony and dinner
and 300 attended the reception
which followed.

BOXMAN-LIEBERMAN
Temple •Emanuel was the scene
of a wedding on Sunday, Dec. 11,
at which time Miss Frances Lieb-
erman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Lieberman, became the
bride of Benjamin Boxman, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Boxman.
Rabbi A. Si. Ashinsky read the
service.
The bride was sweet in her
bridal gown of white taffeta,
period style, and the uneven hem-
line. Her headdress of Spanish
design held in place her tulle veil.
She carried brides roses and val-
ley lilies.
Miss Eillen Rimmer as matron
of honor was gowned in orchid,
and the two bridesmaids, Miss
Jennie Needle and Miss I'auline
Krenston, wore green and pink,
respectively. Each carried roses
to harmonize with their gowns.
Harry Boxman performed the
duties of best man and the ushers
were Harry Needle and Oscar Box-
man. Little Allen Lewin acted 83
ring bearer and little Ruthie Cohl
as flower girl.
A dinner and dance for 250
guests followed the ceremony.

A very pretty wedding was sol-
emnized on Sunday, Dec. 11, when
Miss Ethel Lasser, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. A. Lasser, became
the bride of Peter Portnoy, son of
Mrs. B. Portnoy at the bride's
residence on Hazelwood avenue.
Rabbi A. Si. Ashinsky performed
the ceremony at 7 o'clock in the
presence of the immediate family.
The bride was charming in a
period gown of white satin and
lace. her veil was held in place
by a cap of lace. She carried
bride's roses.
Mrs. Julius Portnoy, matron of
honor, was attired in light blue
and carried Coolidge rows.
Walter Lasser served Mr. Port-
noy as best man.
Mrs. Lasser, mother of the
bride, was gowned in black trim-
med in gold lace and Mrs. Portnoy,
mother of the groom, wore all
black. Each carried corsages of
red roses.
A reception followed the cere-
mony and a midnight luncheon
was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Portnoy are so-
journing in the West.
