Dec. 18, will be the occasion of an
open meeting of Detroit Chapter
No. 63, Order of Aleph Zalik Aleph
of the Independent Order B'nai
B'rith. The meeting, scheduled for
3:00 p. m., at the !Prod 13'rith Com-
munity ('enter, 275 East Ferry
avenue, will offer an interesting
program to which the parents of
A. Z. A. members, members of Pis-
gah Lodge and the public are in-
vited.
In accordance with an estab-
lished custom, the national A. Z. A.
organization has selected an out-of-
town speaker to address the gather-
ing. Harold llorwitz, aleph godol
(president) of the local chapter
will conduct the meeting.
Following the invocation by Rab-
bi Harry Z. Gordon, the program
will get under way with musical
numbers, a one-man humorous de-
bate by I. Sol Rosenman, commun-
ity singing, a brief declamation by
Samuel Charfoos, and the presen-
tation of the fraternity ritual work
by Zeldon Cohen, Leonard Gold-
stein, David Coos, I. Sol Rosenman,
Samuel Gorin, and P. R. Feder.
A. Z. A. groups throughout the
country will observe this day in a
like manner. At Grand Rapids,
Chapter No. 5, will have for its
speaker Ilenry M. Gottlieb, chair-
man of the Detroit chapter's advis-
ory board.
Word has been received that Max
N. Krololf, grand aleph godol of
the national A. Z. A. organization,
who is visiting chapters in several
cities, expects to be in Detroit on
Saturday, Der. 21, to discuss with
the members of the local group

tion will be given on Sunday, Dec.

In the Oakland Avenue Talmud

ed in the Ahavath Achim Syna-
gogue, en Wednesday, Dec. 21, at
5:00 o'clock in the afternoon. In
Windsor, Talmud Torah prepara-
tions are planned for an elaborate
celebration on Sunday, Dec. 18, at
8:00 o'clock in the evening. In the
Six Mile Road School, located at
Brush and Minnesota, the celebra-
tion Will be postponed for a week.

manner.

DR. ARONSTAM TO HELP
EDIT MEDICAL REVIEW

Dr. Noah E. Aronstam, physi-
cian, of 624-626 Maccabees Build-
ing has been made an associate
editor of the Urologic and Cutane-
ous Review. This medical journal
is one of the foremost papers in
the United States dealing with
dermatology, or diseases of the
skin.
Dr. Aronstam will have charge
of all abstracts appearing in the
Urologic and Cutaneous Review.
His first abstract will appear In
the January, 1928, issue. Dr.
Aronstam is also an associate edi-
tor of the Indianapolis Medical
Journal.

tablished a synagogue in a rented
house on Adelaide near IIastings,',
being at that time the only Jewish.

grew their building, and construct-
ed a large synagogue on Winder
near St. Antoine. Being in need
of a spiritual leader, they succeed-
el in bringing Rabbi Joseph Thum-
in, who had arrived in New York
at the beginning of the war and
had been elected rabbi of a union
of 15 Austrian congregations there,
and who was well-known to the
members of the Beth Abraham as
being held the foremost Talmudist
among the rabbis of Austria and
a descendant of the historical rab-
binical family Thumin of whom
Rabbi Joseph Thumin is the forti-
eth generation of rabbis, to Detroit
