MOSCOW.- (J. T. A.) - The
"Robkors," the group of officials
which came into existence in Run-
SIM with the advent of the Soviet
,ystem, were charred with the task
of assisting the Communist party
in its fight against what is termed •
"clericalism," by a decision of the
conference of "Robkors" held in
Charkott
The Robkors are the so-called
"labor correspondents" appointed
by the Communist party in each
town and village for the purpose
of reporting to the Communist
press 00 the life of the population
from a purely Communist angle.
'fhe conference consisted of labor
correspondents of the Communist
Yiddish press. The resolution
adopted states that the correspon-
dents must "expose all attempts of
the clericals and Zionists to revive
their influence among the masses."
The resolution also urges the
labor correspondents to report on
all anti-Semitic activities.

the great mass of immigrants from
Eastern Europe. But alas, the
educational institutions and ideas
brought with than by these immi-
grants, to be transplanted on
Americo!' soil, were even then an-
tiquated. In America, powerful
influences compel us to revaluate
the educational work we are en-
gaged in, and what is even more
important, they challenge us to
define more clearly and with bet-
ter understanding the direction
which Jewish educational activity
shall take for the future.
''This development cannot be
made a matter of chance. If we
succeed, it will be the result rather
of a new conception of the im-
portanc• of education; of the vast
opportunities Jewish education of-
fers as a field of service, fused
with a realization of the possibili-
ties of utilizing scientific methods
in the solution of many of its vex-
ing problems.
"Figures gathered by Jewish
educators place the number of
Jewish children in this country of
school age at 81 0 1,000. Of these,
only 30 per cent are receiving
Jewish education. The Jews of
America are spending approxi.
mutely $7,000,000 a year for Jew-
ish education. What does the fu-
ture hold out for those who come
under the influence of our educe.
Mona] agencies? What does the
future hold out for the great
army of unschooled Jewish chil-
dren that is growing up in this
country? It is to be hoped that as
a result of the deliberations some
light may be shed upon these
questions."
Rabbi Ilarry S. Davidowitz of
the Jewish Community Center of
Atlantic City greeted the assembly
in the name of the local commu-
nity. Dr. Samson Benderly of the
Bureau of Jewish Education, New
York, emphasized the communal
aspect of Jewish education and
expressed his gratification over the
interest that is manifesting itself
in this direction throughout the
country.

How Disraeli Beat the Devil.

I canvassed their friends and voters
of the district beseeching them for
their ballot. Disraeli came across,
an old English farmer to whom he
explained his platform and asked
him for his vote. Listening impa-

the future premier, the farmer ex.'

"Well, if you are Benjamin Dis-,

Smiling suavely the statesman
replied calmly: "Ah, I see. But if
