Marriages

A pretty wedding was solem-
nized on Thursday evening, May
19, when Miss Esther Bates,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon
Bates of Clairmount avenue, be-
came the bride of Mark J. Levy of
this city, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Adolph Levy of New York City,
which took place at the bride's
home.
Masses of spring flowers banked '
the fireplace, before which the
marriage service was read by
Rabbi A. M. Hershman. The stair-I
way was arched in peach blossoms.
Masters Milton Bates and Sher-
wood I.eitmen held the ribbons
which marked the aisle. Preced-
ing the ceremony, "0 Promise
Me" was sung by Miss Alice Cash-
wan, accompanied by Miss Lee
Leitman.
The bride was piquant in white
chiffon. Her head-dress was a
charmingly simple cop arrange-
ment of tulle edged with lace,
caught at the side with a cluster
of orange blossoms. She carried
a shower bouquet of white roses
and lilies-of-the-valley.
Miss Edith Bates, who attended
her sister as maid of honor, wore
a gown of peach chiffon and car-
ried an arm bouquet of spring
flowers in pastel shades. Dr. A.
Bookstein assisted Mr. Levy as
best man.
Mr. and Mrs. Levy have left for
an Eastern honeymoon trip. They
will visit New York and Balti-

THE EASY

FRIENDLY DIGNITY
of

TRUE ARTISTRY

Dean's decorative settings and ensembles provide that
elusive atmosphere of accustomed well-being and non-
chalant dignity which many strive for but few achieve.

Whether they express the ultra-vivid charm of modern
sophistication or restful harmony in delicate tones and
shades, Dean interiors always express the friendly dig-
nity of true artistry.

For more than 80 years Deans have devoted their
resources, experience and craftsmanship exclusively to
fostering this art of interior and exterior decoration.

The many new clients we have welcomed at our New
and Greater Galleries have been astonished at the
advantages and economy of "Furnishings by Dean".
