quisite creation of bridal satin com-
bined with Chantilly lace, made with
a tight bodice and fashionably full.
Her flattering tulle veil fell from an
unusual head dress of lace embroi-
dered in pearls. lier bouquet was of
white roses and lilies-of-the-valley.
The maid of honor, Miss Blanche
Swatlo, the bride's sister, was attrac-
tively gowned in flesh satin covered
with net and carried tea roses.
Al Smith acted as best man.
After the ceremony dinner was
served to 40 people, followed by a
reception at the bride's home.

One of the prettiest weddings of
the season took place Sunday, Dec.
26, at Temple Emanuel, when Miss
Edith Sominaky, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Abraham J. Sominsky of 2494
Pingree avenue, wan united in mar-
riage to George II. Arta. Rabbi A.
M. Ashinsky officiated. Preceding
the ceremony, Edward H. Diehl sang
"0 Promise Me," accompanied by
David Diamond.
The bride was charmnig in a gown
of bridal satin, combined with Chan-
tilly lace, made with tight bodice and
fashionably full. Her tulle veil fell
from an unusual headdress of bridal
satin, embroidered in circles of pearls
and rhinestones, which motif was also
carried out on the gown. She car-

honor, wore a stunning model of gold

A beautiful wedding took place
Sunday, Dec. 26, at the Hotel Syl-
vania, Philadelphia, Pa., when Miss
Estelle Elaine Levenson, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Levenson of
Philadelphia, became the bride of Dr.
Maurice II. Gantz, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Herman Gantz of Detroit. The
ceremony was performed by Rabbi
Wolsey under a canopy of white
chrysanthemums and palms.
The bride was lovely in a gown of
white wedding ring velvet made in a
full skirt and tight-fitting bodice,
trimmed in Duchesse lace. Her veil
of tulle was cap shaped, trimmed in
orange blossoms. She carried a Co-
lonial bouquet of white roses and
lilies-of-the-valley.
Miss Lillian Brechstone of Wash-
ington, D. C., who attended the bride
as maid of honor, wore a gown of
green georgette beaded in pearls and
studded in rhinestones. She carried
a bouquet of roses and sweet peas.
Dr. L. Perlman of Windsor, Ont.,
acted in the capacity of best man.
The mother of the bride was
gowned in black velvet trimmed with
flesh georgette. The mother of the
groom wore a green chiffon gown.
Each wore corsages of sweet peas.
Following the ceremony, dinner
was served for the immediate family,
after which a reception was held for
the relatives and friends.

WEINER-LEIBOVITZ
The Philadelphia Community Cen-
ter was the scene of a very pretty
wedding on Sunday evening, Dec. 26,
when Miss Tillie Leibovitz, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leibovitz of
944 Virginia park, became the bride
of Charles Weiner, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Weiner of 971 Alger
avenue. Rabbi Golden officiated.
The bride was handsomely attired
in a gown of ivory crepe, beaded with
seed pearls. Iler tulle veil, made
Spanish effect, was held in place with
clusters of orange blossoms. She
carried a shower bouquet of bridal
roses and lilies-of-the-valley.
Miss Martha Rosenstein, cousin of
the groom, who attended as maid of
honor, was lovely in a gown of pale
pink georgette. The bridesmaids, the
Misses Muriel Rosenstein, Rose Kas-
off and Rosalyn Meyersohn, were at-
tractively gowned in flesh georgette,
rose taffeta and rose chiffon, respec-
tively, and carried bouquets of roses
to match their gowns. Little Peggy
Dermer, cousin of the groom, and
Shirley !den, niece of the bride, were
flower girls. They wore ruffled
frocks of pink georgette.
George Leibovitz, brother of the
bride, attended as best man, and
Samuel Leibovitz, Samuel Weiner
and Aaron Wisewasser were ushers.
Ephram Horowitz, the ring bearer,
wore a full dress suit.
Mrs. Leibovitz, mother of the
bride, was lovely in a gown of black
georgette, trimmed with cut stee l
beads. Mrs. Weiner, mother of the
groom, was attractive in a pale rose
gown, trimmed with pearls and
rhinestones.
Following the ceremony, dinner
was served to 500 guests, after which
Mr. and Mrs. Weiner left for an ex-
tended trip through the East. Upon
their return, they will reside in De-
troit.
