sel and Gretel are in the hands of
the embryo operatic stars; among
them, Doris Sperling, who has given
several concerts in Detroit; Rhoda
Goldberg, who has appeared in pub-
lic musical affairs, and Gertrude
Lapidies, whose ability in character
roles marks her for much promise in
drama. Miss Sperling will sing Han-
sel; Miss Goldberg takes the part of
Gretel and Miss Lapidies the sand-
